RUDY BUTTIGNOL | President of NXT Strategy | Canada
Rudy ButtignolC.M. is President of NXT Strategy + Brand. He is an independent broadcast executive and a moderator of the documentary financing forums in Asia and Europe. From 2007 to 2022, he served as President and CEO of British Columbia’s public broadcaster Knowledge Network, and, concurrently, as President of BBC Kids (2011-19).
In 1993, Buttignol was recruited as public broadcaster TV Ontario’s first Commissioning Editor and served as Creative Head of Network Programming from 2000 to 2006.
His award-winning commissions include documentary series Emergency Room, Search & Rescue North Shore, British Columbia; An Untold History, Emmy/Grammy-winner Yo-Yo Ma, Inspired by Bach; and Afghanistan, The Wounded Land. Feature documentaries include Manufactured Landscapes and Oscar-nominated Writing with Fire.
From 1975 to 1993, Buttignol worked as an independent writer, director and producer of documentaries and children’s series. He was born in Pordenone Italy, graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Toronto’s York University, and completed executive programs at Harvard and Stanford. Awards include nine Canadian Academy Awards, an honorary Doctorate of Letters, and investiture in the Order of Canada.

ANNE FABINI | Editor | Germany
Anne Fabini has been editing notable feature films and documentaries since 1999. She also works as story consultant and editing tutor at international documentary workshops such as Docs By The Sea, Close Up, Dok.Incubator, IDFA Project Space and is a member of Rough Cut Service.
Her works include Oscar-nominated Of Fathers and Sons by Syrian director TalalDerki, 2014 Sundance Film Festival World Documentary Grand Jury Award winner The Return to Homs also by Derki, Sundance award winner and Oscar-nominated Writing With Fire by Rintu Thomas and Sushmit Gosh, Berlin Film Festival 2022 Chrystal Bear awarded ALIS (directed by C. Weiskopf and N. van Hemeryck) and Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Science Best Editing Award 2020 Aswang by AlyxAynArumpac.
Fabini also won the German Film Award for Best Editing and the prestigious German Film Critics Award.
Her fiction credits include Berlin Film Festival and SXSW 2020 competitor One Of These Days by Bastian Günther, Chad Hartigan’s Morris from America (2016) and Jennifer Fox’s The Tale (2019).
She is a member of AMPAS and the European and the German Film Academy. She also occasionally teaches film editing at universities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. She has served as a jury member at international film festivals: Karlovy Vary Documentary Competition, Zürich Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival.

IikkaVehkalahti is owner and Executive Producer of IV Films Ltd, Toinenkatse Ltd and Rough Cut Service. He has been strongly involved in the creation and production of worldwide series Steps For The Future, Why Democracy, Dare To Dream and Generation Africa.
After drama studies he directed several awarded documentaries including Our Common Future, Tehri-Two Journeys and Amal, Inam, Naila.
As a Commissioning Editor for the Finnish Broadcasting Company, YLE he supported numerous high quality documentaries like Three Rooms Of Melancholy, Act Of Killing, Armadillo, Happiness and Steam Of Life.
Now as an independent producer his most recent productions are Machines and Invisible Demons by Rahul Jain, An Unframed Portrait by AvaniRai and The New Greatness Case by Anna Shishova.
For several yearsVehkalahti was a member of IDFA board. He has been tutoring at ExOriente, DocedgeKolkata, Docs ByThe Sea, Dok Incubator and Co Pro projects and served in the jury at IDFA, HotDocs and Shanghai film festivals.

NielsPagh Andersen | Editor | Denmark
NielsPagh Andersen started his career at sixteen as an assistant on fiction-film. Since 1979 he has worked as a film editor and has edited more than 250 films of widely different categories.
His filmography includes fiction films The Pathfinder, an Academy Award Nominee and Everlasting Moments, Golden Globe Nominee and documentaries The Act of Killing and The Look of Silence, both Academy Award Nominees.
He has lectured and taught at film schools and universities worldwide and is Professor in Editing at The Norwegian Filmschool. In 2005 he won the prestigious lifetime achievement award, The Roos Prize, and The
Danish Film Institute’s grand documentary prize for outstanding efforts in documentary filmmaking. In 2021 he published the book “ Order in Chaos”- Storytelling and editing in Documentary film.
