The application for Letʼsdoc can be made only through the online application process.
The online application will close on 26 August 2025 at 23:59 (IST).
Applications sent by mail will not be entertained.
Applications once submitted through the Online Form can't be edited or resubmitted.
Application Requirements
Logline (30 words): The brief idea of the project in one line only.
The one- or two-sentence summary must concisely convey the core premise and give a clear sense of what the film is about and why it matters.
Synopsis (250 words): Give a clear description of your film and the intended story, briefly elaborating on characters, story space, theme, issue and subject it deals with. The synopsis should be engaging, informative with a clear understanding of the story arc and the thematic premise.
Director Statement (300 words): What is your unique approach or perspective in telling this story? This section helps us understand your creative intent, artistic approach, and personal connection to the story. Your Statement should combine both visual treatment and your unique perspective.
- Background information – Context or real-world setting relevant to the story
- Visual approach – The look, tone, or cinematic style you envision
- Artistic vision – The emotional flow or storytelling rhythm across the film
- Inspiration – What sparked the idea for this film
- Motivation – Why this story matters to you personally
- Intention – What you aim to explore or achieve by telling this story
Director’s Bio (100 words): In a paragraph or pointers, include:
- Full name and professional identity (e.g., documentary filmmaker, visual storyteller)
- Brief background – education or training (if relevant)
- Key work – mention 1–2 notable films or projects you were involved with
- Recognition – awards, festivals, fellowships (if any)
- Artistic focus or interests – thematic or stylistic preferences, genre etc. in storytelling
Visual Trailer (3 to 4 minutes): Visual Trailer of the applied project.
Submit a visual trailer that:
- Clearly reflects your intended film and complements your written proposal
- Introduces key characters, story space, or core theme
- Represents your Visual style and storytelling approach
- Uses original footage you already shot ( or archive relevant to the project idea)
- Trailer length beyond 4 minutes will be disqualified
NOTE: Applicants must stay within the word limits for each section.
