Hans Robert Eisenhauer | Producer | Ventana-Film GmbH

From 1991 until 2011 Hans Robert worked as Deputy Program Director and Head of Theme Evenings for ARTE. He commissioned more than 60 theatrical lengths commissions for TV and cinema include since 1992 Oscar nominated Buena Vista Social Club by Wim Wenders, Oscar-winner Taxi To The Dark Side by Alex Gibney. With his company Ventana-Film he produced and coproduced since 2011 documentaries like Return to Homs and Oscar-nominated Of Fathers and Sons by Talal Derki.

Hans Robert has also served as director of the Berlin Film Fund and he is member of the German and the European Film Academy, which he helped to create in 1988.

After his retirement from ZDF/ARTE Hans Robert is living in Berlin and running the film- and TV-production-company Ventana-Film GmbH., focused on international documentary-films, including cultural and current affairs TV programs.

His work as a producer includes the two German-Syrian co-productions “Return to Homs” and the Oscar- nominated “Of Fathers and Sons” which had their world premiere at IDFA 2013 and 2017. Both films have been awarded with the Grand Jury Prize for the best International Documentary at the Sundance Film-festival 2014 and 2018.

Ventana-Film GmbH is a Berlin based TV- and Film-production company, run by the former deputy program director of ARTE, Hans Robert Eisenhauer. He started working as manager and producer with Ventana in June 2011 after his retirement from his position as a senior commissioning editor at ZDF/ARTE.
