His directorial career started making Short fictions for Indian television. There after
he changed his focus to making documentaries, some of them were awarded
Nationally.
"Clay Image Makers of Kumartuli", received Silver Lotus at 62nd Indian National Film
Award in 2014. "Aoleng", also a documentary received Silver Lotus at 63rd Indian
National Film Award in 2015. "Ajopa Gacha", a short fiction, was selected in the
Indian panorama 2001. “Dolls Don’t Die”, his latest documentary, was selected in the
main competition of EIDF International Documentary Film Festival 2023 at South
Korea.
He also performed as a Jury Member in 2017 for final selection in National film
Award of Non-Fiction & Short Film categories. Contributed as a mentor at Let'sdoc
and DocedgeKolkata in 2018 and 2019. Also served as a mentor at Liberation
Museum of Bangladesh in Dhaka for Exposition of Young Film Talents in 2022 and
2023.
