John Webster | Filmmaker | Finland

John Webster has been directing and producing documentary films for over 30 years. His films are visually ambitious social issue stories with strong central characters told with humour and empathy. Films include The Happy Worker (2022), Eye to Eye (2020), Little Yellow Boots (2017), Recipes for Disaster (2008), Rooms of Shadow and Light (2001), and Suckers (1993).

John mentors documentary films and was the co-producer of Academy Award-nominated Writing with Fire (2021). He is the recipient of two Finnish Jussi Awards and Docpoint’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
