Ragnhild Ek

The Swedish award-winning filmmaker and communications expert Ragnhild EK started her career as a journalist and film producer in Africa, producing documentaries for BBC and independent features for Channel Four News and other TV networks. Throughout her journey she has focused on refugee storytelling throughout her career.
Ragnhild has served for the UN Refugee Agency, including in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, and the Middle East as well as worked as the head of UNHCR Video Unit in Geneva managing content teams for the refugee agency, worldwide. She has directed and produced a series of testimonials with refugees in North Africa and refugee talk shows for Telling the Real Story (TRS).
She has also served as a jury member, decision maker and mentor for various festivals and programs including the Docs-in-Progress Showcase at the Marché du Film in Cannes, Dhaka DocLab, DocedgeKolkata, TFI's IF/THEN Shorts Program at IDFA and most recently Durban FilmMart and El Gouna Film Festival.
