TAREQ AHMED, Director, Dhaka DocLab, Bangladesh

Tareq Ahmed is currently the Director of Dhaka DocLab. He has extensive knowledge of producing audiovisual programs for local and international development agencies for around two decades. He was the Director of International short & independent film festival, Bangladesh, the oldest festival in this category in whole South Asia. Besides, he led a media and communication organisation, which particularly worked for grassroots media and media professionals. He also attended workshops and trainings on cinema and the medium at home and abroad. Ahmed also authored a number of books on cinema and the medium.

INSTITUTE PROFILE

Dhaka DocLab is a platform for pitching and mentoring of documentary filmmakers. It organizes an annual pitching event for South Asian documentary filmmakers. Besides, Dhaka DocLab engages itself through organizing workshops, masterclasses and seminars for documentary filmmakers of Bangladesh.
