Kunal Jhaveri founder of Filamnt, India’s first sales agency dedicated to short films and documentaries, studied filmmaking at the Vancouver Film School. A passionate cinephile Jhaveri worked as a senior producer at ET NOW where he was responsible for supervision of on-air promos before starting his own company. He is committed to make Independent Films more accessible to the Indian audience and also co-founded India’s first film club dedicated to short films, the Mocha Film Club. He along with his co-founder pioneered distribution for short films in India in the then fledgling Online and Television space. Jhaveri is a keen observer of Indian and World cinema and the ongoing cinematic trends from across the world.

INSTITUTE PROFILE

Started as an offline-screening platform in Mumbai in 2017, Filamnt has grown to be an Independent Film Programming, Sales and Distribution Company focused on creating distribution avenues and revenue opportunities for Independent Films in India. Filamnt creates sales opportunities for Indian short films, documentaries and feature films at Indian and International streaming platforms, Television Channels, DTH Platforms and In-Flight Entertainment companies.

On the distribution side, Filamnt is in the midst of an exciting project that aims to create new opportunities for documentaries and short films through screenings in Theatres. The company also programmes thematic short film and documentary packages for brand activations and launches.
