MÉLANIE DE VOCHT, Project Manager, IDFA, The Netherlands
Mélanie de Vocht holds a master degree in Cultural Anthropology. After graduating she started working for the Program Department of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA). She’s working for the IDFA Bertha Fund since 2006. As project manager of the Fund Mélanie oversees the mentoring of the supported projects and takes care of the IDFA Bertha Fund selection and delegation at IDFA each year. Furthermore she represented the fund and/or was part of the jury in several documentary film festivals in countries like Tanzania, Syria, Peru, Tunisia, Morocco, Georgia, Korea and South Africa.

The IDFA Bertha Fund (IBF), over the course of 21 years, has developed into an internationally renowned institution with a broad network supporting over 600 documentaries, projects and film organisations in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle-East and Latin America. Later on IDFA had added a funding scheme for international co-productions. The IBF is part of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA), one of the world’s leading documentary film festivals.
Every year, IDFA includes in its programme around 300 films and draws an audience of over 280,000. Additionally, IDFA’s industry activities (the markets Docs for Sale and IDFA Forum as well as the IDFA Academy training program) so far hosted more than 3,500 professional guests during the festival.
