Niels Pagh Andersen has edited more than 250 films of widely different categories. Apart from working in the Scandinavian countries, Andersen took up projects in Italy, England, Germany, Switzerland, the Fiji Islands, Brazil and USA. Besides his work as editor he has lectured and taught at film schools and universities around the world. He is also known for his work as a dramaturge and supervising editor.
In the past ten years many of his works have received prestigious awards which includes 2012 films ‘The Act of Killing’ by Joshua Oppenheimer, winner of 44 international awards and nominated for Oscar and ‘Palme’ by Kristina Lindstrøm and Maud Nycander, winner of Guldbagge Awards for best editing. The 2013 film ‘Concrete Night’ by Pirjo Honkasalo received 6 Jussi Awards including for the best editing. The 2014 film ‘The Look of Silence’ by Joshua Oppenheimer too was nominated for Oscar.
Anderson’s other notable works are ‘The 3 Rooms of Melancholia’ by Pirjo Honkasalo, ‘Prostitution Behind The Veil’ by Nahid Persson, ‘Flying – Confessions of Free Woman’ by Jennifer Fox and ‘Human Flow’ by Ai Weiwei.
