Sylvia Bednarz has worked in documentary film and TV production, beginning her media career as Production Coordinator on the feature documentary "The Age of Stupid". She then joined Current TV as an Associate Producer, working alongside the commissioning editor to manage both single and series documentaries from development through to broadcast. Sylvia was the Business Development Director and Film Festival Producer at the digital short film platform – The Smalls – before she joined Doc/Fest. She is now the Director of Partnerships and Development at Sheffield Doc/Fest – the UK’s largest and most exciting documentary and digital media festival. Sheffield Doc/Fest is a world leading festival celebrating the art and business of documentary and non-fiction storytelling across all forms. Each year the festival welcomes over 25,000 festival goers, including around 3,500 industry delegates from 55 countries. Doc/Fest is a creative space for discovery, debate, collaboration and inspiration. It champions and pushes forward new talent, ideas and interaction for the future of the industry. As an open, inclusive festival, it brings together veteran creatives, new voices and the city to share, shape and question the stories of the world we live in.
