Galia did her B.A. in Film & Television Studies from the Valedictorian of Tel Aviv University, 1995. Her significant work includes : 2009 onwards – Director of Docaviv, the Tel Aviv International Documentary Film Festival, one of the leading documentary festivals worldwide and the largest film festival in the city of Tel Aviv dedicated to documentaries. 2005 - 2008 – CEO of the Israeli Documentary Filmmakers´ Forum. 2000 – Producer of the Ramallah-Tel Aviv Int’l Human Rights FF. 1997 – Initiator, Director of the Shorts FF. 1996 – Director of the Tel Aviv Int. Student FF. She has also worked as Film Producer for the films : “Rabbi Firer” (dir: Amit Goren) – Channel 10; “Jerusalem is proud to present” (dir: Nitzan Giladi) – Channel 8, Channel 2, IDFA 2007 – winner of Human Rights award, Outfest LA, BANF Canada, Torino FF, Docaviv; “Perfect Family” (dir: Roni Aboulafia) – Yes Docu Channel, Docaviv 2007; “Eshbal” (dir: Ziv Even-Tsur) – Channel 2, Docaviv 2005; as well as several other well acknowledged films and television series. She has worked as Lecturer at the dept. of Production Studies at the Camera Obscura Film School (2000-2005) and also at the Film and Video Media dept. at the Champlain College, Israel (1999-2004).
