Hamano is currently the Senior Producer at the NHK. He began his career in 1990 at the NHK, directing social issue and current affair programs. He studied interactive media at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles in 2000. He has co-produced documentaries throughout his career that includes “Nano Revolution” (2010), the award-winning “Journey To The Disaster Zone: Japan 3/11” (2011), “My Atomic Aunt” (2013) with BBC, Knowledge Network and WDR, “Spaceship Earth” (2014) with Primitive Entertainment, ARTE/ZDF and Shaw Media. He received the Doc Mogul Award from HOT DOCS, Toronto Documentary Film Festival, in 2015. NHK, Japan Broadcasting Corporation, is Japan’s only public broadcaster. As a public broadcaster funded by fees received from TV viewers in Japan, NHK delivers a wide range of impartial, high-quality programs, both at home and abroad.
