Hugo Jinseok Kang | Programmer | DMZ International Documentary Film Festival | South Korea

Since 2021, Jinseok Kang has served as the programmer for the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival (DMZ Docs). He holds degrees in Film Theory from the Korea National University of Arts (KARTS) and in Visual Anthropology from Freie Universität Berlin.

He has previously lectured on filmmaking and cinema history at various institutions, including the Korea National University of Arts. As a producer, he has been involved in several documentaries, notably Exile Trilogy (directed by Soyoung Kim). Additionally, he has directed ethnographic documentary projects, including The Grocery (2022).

DMZ Docs

DMZ International Documentary Film Festival (DMZ Docs) is a Korean film festival for documentaries jointly presented by Paju and Goyang in Gyeonggi Province. The festival primarily focuses on introducing documentaries from Asia and puts the spotlight on outstanding works worldwide.

DMZ Docs also host DMZ Industry to support documentary filmmakers across Asia and discover promising projects to present to the world.
