Gunny (Gune) Hyoung | Artistic Director | EIDF & K-DOCS /EBS KOREA | South Korea

Gunny has been a founding member of EIDF and K-DOCS since 2004. He began his academic journey with a major in Architecture before transitioning to Film and Television Production in the United States. Over the years, Gunny has actively participated in numerous international film festivals and industry forums, serving as a jury member and decision-maker. Additionally, he held the position of Documentary Director and Producer at the ABU headquarters (Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union) in Malaysia and received professional training as a producer at Radio Netherlands.

EIDF & K-DOCS

The EIDF (EBS International Documentary Festival) is a documentary film festival that annually showcases approximately 60 films acquired primarily through the public television network, EBS Korea. EIDF stands out as an international documentary film festival that delivers its programming through both television (EBS Korea) and theatrical screenings.

K-DOCS, an industry pitching platform associated with EIDF, aims to support international documentary film projects at various stages of development. As a new initiative, K-DOCS provides a platform for fostering innovative and impactful documentary projects.

EBS, as a public television network, is dedicated to addressing cultural and educational needs. Through EIDF, it acquires both feature-length and short documentary films for its annual festival.

Most of the films presented during EIDF are broadcasted during the festival, typically held in the final week of August.
