After studying with Roland Barthes at the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes, he published books among those of Jean-Luc Godard, Michelangelo Antonioni, Frederico Fellini, Marguerite Duras.
In the 80s, he co-produced two of Marguerite Duras's movies and directed several full-length films that were selected for international festivals such as Cannes, Venice, Montreal, etc.
In the 90s, he travelled to parts of Asia such as China, India and Indonesia and from 1995 to 2005 produced twenty movies in the Eastern European countries, Central Asia, and Asia. Seven of these movies were selected for the Cannes Film Festival, three for Venice, two for Locarno and one for Berlin.
Since 2005, he has been dedicated to scriptwriting, directing features and documentary films and producing documentaries.
Kolam Productions
Founded in 2003, Kolam Productions is an independent film production company based in Paris and has produced around 60 hours of creative documentaries.
The company has always sought to promote personal and original views as perspectives on the world’s societies and cultures. Their choices are primarily guided by the sensitivity, authenticity and sincerity of the author’s and director’s outlook. The editorial line focuses on art, culture, history, travel and horse stories.
