Tareq Ahmed | Director | Dhaka DocLab | Bangladesh Tareq Ahmed is the Director of Dhaka DocLab, the Asian Forum for Documentary filmmakers in Bangladesh. Throughout his 25-year-long career, he was involved in producing & directing television programs & documentaries.

He also has extensive knowledge of producing audiovisual programs for local & international development agencies. As a professional, Tareq led a media & communication organization for more than a decade, which particularly worked for grassroots media & media professionals.

Tareq recently joined the prestigious Mumbai International Film Festival(MIFF) as a jury. Besides, he attended global documentary forums like Cannes Docs (France), AIDC (Australia), DMZ Docs (S. Korea), GZDocs(China), DocEdge NZ (New Zealand) & DocedgeKolkatta (India) as a decision maker both online and onsite.

Tareq also authored a number of books on cinema and the medium.

Dhaka DocLab
Dhaka DocLab is a forum for Asian documentary filmmakers in Bangladesh and organizes an annual event of pitching cum mentoring for Asian documentary filmmakers. Besides, the forum engages itself by organizing workshops, masterclasses, and seminars for documentary filmmakers of Bangladesh. The Lab wishes to be a productive hub for Asian creative content and reality storytelling.
